It has been my observation that a lot of flight schools struggle with their marketing strategy. Airports can be intimidating places when compared to the shopping mall up the street. This makes it hard to attract and connect with "walk in" customers. Aviation is a mystery to the uninitiated and this can be another marketing barrier. How then do you connect with and build trust with potential new customers?
A good place to start is understanding WHO you are marketing too. In other words, define your Target Audience.
